'Fledgling' is a self-portrait I drew from a photograph of myself and my pet parrot, Saba. Saba is an African Grey Timneh Parrot. Her breed is recognized by their grey bodies and deep red tails. In this drawing you can't see Saba's tail so I chose to leave it in black and white instead of adding colour. I added the red flower to represent the red of the unseen tail feathers. FAQ: Saba loves to talk. One of her favourite phrases is 'I love you.’
