One of my all time favourite poems is ‘The Cremation of Sam McGee,’ written in 1907 by Robert Service. It’s quite a long poem but as a youth I memorized the whole thing and can still recite most of it. An illustrated book of ’The Cremation of Sam McGee' came out in 1986 with art done by Ted Harrison. This drawing of the Northern Lights was inspired by Ted Harrison’s work as well as Robert Service’s poem. If you’ve never had the chance to read ’The Cremation of Sam McGee', here’s a link to it.
