A Lunatic’s Lullaby (Poetry)

Hush my sweet,

go to sleep

The moon is crescent

As I weep

Crying for insanity

Crying out for love

Crying out obscenities

Releasing every dove

Oh my crazy moon child

Oh my lunatic

May you always shine in darkness

May you find the light within

Sing a song of loneliness

Oh gentle moon lit skies

Let the stars twinkle bright

Let the embers rise

Oh sleepy darkened waves

The breath of Mother Earth

Lapping in serenity

Long before my birth

Sing the lunatics lullaby

Of peace and love and ache

Let the spirits in you soar

As you re-discover strength

Oh my crazy moon child

Oh my lunatic

May you always shine in darkness

May you find the light within
